Jay and his 4Runner did really well, and Ernie did a fantastic job spotting Jay through some of the stickier situations for an IFS vehicle that is relatively stock. Jay's tires each caught at least some air throughout the day, but it was the 4 steps hanging from his rock guards that went the way of the DoDo. What Jay didn't realize when he purchased his Rausch Creek membership was that it came with complimentary Rausch Creek Step Relocation and Removal Service.

A “green trail” turned into carnage as Sal’s Scrambler shed taillights, u-joints, and dignity at Engagement Ridge—leaving behind plastic glitter and axle needles as souvenirs. While others logged thousands of snips and cuts clearing brush, Sal played emotional support cart driver, survived mud puddle shenanigans, and taped his Jeep back together. With tools, teamwork, and cold espresso, the cleanup became one unforgettable day.

With a useless map, nonstop winching, and enough gear deployed to stock a parts store, the Rusty Rockers still called it a spectacular weekend. Two tire beads fixed, a valve stem cap extracted with dental picks and teeth, and countless body panels sacrificed—yet spirits never broke. Thanks to Anthony’s leadership, hearty meals, and plenty of laughs, the only thing left behind was gratitude (and maybe a few tree saver marks).

First time out, Tom expected nerves—but found patience, wisdom, and plenty of laughs from fellow LIOR members. Between tackling rocky climbs, learning to trust spotters, and realizing lockers prevent getting stuck (not fix it after), he came away hooked. Add in trailside stories, wild rigs—including a pink-accented Jeep and a fearless Geo Tracker—and it was clear: this hobby is here to stay.
