Clearing the Beach of Trash

LIOR scoured Iron Pier Beach in Jamesport, NY, removing winter's accumulation of oddities, flotsam and jetsam. This was our 2nd annual cleanup done in conjunction with the East End Surf Fishing Club. The Timothy Hill Children's Ranch also joined in this year. The Town of Riverhead once again supplied dumpsters at Iron Pier and Reeves Beach. And once again LIOR filled our dumpster.

The photo of the filled dumpster shows the volume, but does not do justice to the amount of trash; we filled bag after bag with bottles, cans, even bottle caps that were spread over more than a mile of beach.

By special arrangement with the Town we were able to bring our toys out on the beach, but we put them to work! Of course Garrett's newer, larger trailer and Jake and Bob's full size pickups hauled full loads. But look at the loaded Jeeps and stuffed, antique military trailers. As always, LIOR is still a resourceful group.

Besides the beautiful spring morning, the photos also show the variety that makes LIOR unique. Look for Tim & Scott's Land Cruisers, Jim's M38A1 with matching trailer, Bob Coco's newest V6 YJ, Amanda's lifted and Mike's stock XJ's, Joe, Garrett and Scott's lifted TJ's.
